Ausdom 1080p Webcam
The webcam has a great build quality and a very elegant appearance.
The body of the camera is made out of aluminum which has been give a textured finish, while the legs are covered by a silicone-like material which grips well on most surfaces.
Despite its budget pricing, the camera can record video up to 1080p at 30FPS.
The video quality is excellent and it should be more than enough for video calls.
In order to focus correctly to the desired object, the chrome circle has to be rotated so that the lens get the right focus distance.
The webcam also includes an integrated microphone.
After half a dozen of test calls I found out that the sound being transferred is loud and clear.
Another thing that fitted my needs is the dual mounting mechanism.
Due to its design, the webcam can be hanged from the top of the screen but can also stand on the desk by its own.
This feature is especially useful for people who use bezel-less monitors.
The setup process is extremely easy, as no further drivers need to be installed to get the camera working.
After plugging the USB cable in the corresponding port, the camera should immediately be recognized as an input device.
I tested the above procedure both on Linux and Windows and everything worked on the first try.
