Arespark, 10.1" Tablet

Rating: 4/5

The Arespark 10.1" Tablet is an excellent valued device.

The back cover of the device is plastic, yet it feels strong and durable.
It has a leather-like texture that makes it look premium and increases its grip.
The device is running on Android 4.4 Kitkat. The UI is actually similar to stock Android with hardly any visual alternations.
Despite the old operating system, the operation of the device is lag free for the most part.

The tablet is sporting a 10" 1024 x 600 display which has a decent accurate color reproduction.
Unfortunately, there is quite some glare when the screen is exposed on over-lit environments, but that's to be expected at this price range.

The 2MP rear camera sensor is able to capture quite good photos for its resolution.
Of course, you should not expect to get an amazing camera for a such priced device, but all in all, it gets the job done. The 0.3MP front facing camera is also quite good for taking selfies. The details captured aren't great but again, that's to be expected.

The Arespark 10.1" is using an Allwiner A33 processor that consists out of 4 Cortex-A7 cores,
while a Mali-400 MP2 GPU is responsible for pushing the pixels to the screen.
Additionally, the 1GB of RAM and the 8GB of internal storage are some great specifications for the price.Overall, the combination of those components is great and allows the phone to go through multiple tasks flawlessly.
Moreover, the GPU is powerful enough to play simple games without any noticeable stutters or lags.

The WiFi reception is pretty good, while the network-based location gets the job done just fine.
The maximum speaker volume is high and the sound reproduction is  clear, which is quite rare for a such priced tablet.

Due to the lower powered cpu combined with the large capacity of the battery, the battery life of the device is great.
I have been able to go through 2 days of usage without needing to look for a charger.
The included charger can provide up to 2A of current, which means that a full charge requires around 2 hours.
Keep in mind that by default the charger comes with a UK plug but I contacted the manufacturer in order to include an EU plug so that I don't have to use an adapter.

Lastly, the original box also includes a microUSB cable, a USB OTG cable, a detailed manual as well as a pair of headphones and an audio jack adapter.
All in all, the tablet is more than capable for its price and should be a great gift for your younger siblings.
