VicTsing Action Camera
Rating 5/5
As one would expect, the dimensions of the camera are tiny and the weight is minimal.
Despite the plastic construction, the camera feels solid and strong.
The sides of the camera are textured for added grip, while the front face is rubberized
There are 4 buttons in total, the functionality of which is described below:
1. Power on/off, Change mode (Top left)
2. Start Capture/Shutter/OK (Top right)
3. Menu/Display (On the right of the screen)
4. Wifi (On the right side)
The camera is able to record video at 1080p@30fps, 720@60fps, 720@30fps, 848x480.
I find myself using the 720p@60fps most of the times, due to the increased frame count.
The video quality is great and the wide angle lens is perfect for capturing with a big field of view.
The camera can also capture 12MP pictures with great quality for its price category.
The audio quality is good and relatively clear when the camera is used without the waterproof casing.
Of course, don't expect to be able to record high quality audio when the casing is used. By design,
it is supposed to block anything from coming in the inside.
The 2.0 HD display is definitely a nice addition which greatly improves the user experience and
makes the handling of the camera an easy task.
The display is clear and bright and the pixel density is high.
Car/Dash mode is also available and can be selected after scrolling through the different modes using the power button. This specific mode turns the screen upside down in order to allow the camera to get placed in the dash.
Of course, the user can also download the corresponding application that allows the control of the camera via his phone. The application adds a whole deal of functionality to the camera, while its interface and the pairing process is simple .
As far as the battery life is concerned, I was able to get around 2 hours and 10 minuts of video recording using the included 1200mAh battery, while it took around an hour get the battery fully charged.
It is worth noting that there is another 1200mAh included in the package which actaully doubles the time you can record using the camera.
Connectivity-wise, the action camera has a microUSB and a microHDMI port. In addition, it accepts microSD cards. As the video capture requires quick write speeds, it is suggested that the microSD cards should be at least class 6 or more, so that no problems will occur during recording.
Lastly, there was a whole load of accessories included in the original package.
All of the accessories are very useful. I especially liked the waterproof casing, the suction cup holder - which allows the camera to be used as a dedicated dashcam - and of course the wrist remote control.
Using the last accesory, the camera can be programmed to start recording, capture a photo or power off from a remote distance (maximum 15m).
