CCbetter, Wildlife hunting camera

Rating 5/5

The Wildlife Hunting Camera by ccbetter is the absolute gadget for capturing wildlife scenes.

Despite the all-plastic construction, the camera is very strong and durable, while the weight is kept low.
According to the manufacturer, the product is rated as IP54 which means that it is dust protected and can withstand water splashing. The specifications mentioned above are more than enough to allow the device to be used outdoors.

A total of 42 infrared LEDs are mounted in the front of the camera. The LEDs are automatically turned on in case movement has been detected and the lighting level is low. After testing out the product, I found that the maximum distance that the LEDs were effective is around 15 meters.
Movement is detected by the 3 PIR motion sensors that are also mounted in the face of the camera.
If all of the sensors are enabled, the maximum angle that is covered is 120 degrees.

The device uses a 5MP camera sensor (12MP with interpolation) that is able to capture video in 1080p resolution.
I am really impressed by the performance of the camera both in broad daylight and at night.
During daylight, the images are sharp and detailed and the colors are vibrant. At night, the device
utilizes the full potential of the IR LEDs, which seem to be very effective on close range.

A 2.4" LCD has also been integrated into the device. The screen can be used to configure a wide variety of settings as well as preview the captured images/videos.
Don't expect the quality of the screen to be excellent, as its main purpose is to help the user in the setup of the camera.

Both RCA and USB interfaces can be used to access the captured media.
Using the included RCA cable, the camera is able to display directly the pictures/videos on the TV, while the USB interface also allows for managing the contents of the memory.
A regular SD card is used to store all of the captured data, with the maximum capacity supported being 32GB.

The device is powered by 8 AA batteries. As stated by the manufacturer, the maximum battery life is estimated up to 6 months, but the number is heavily affected by the quality of the batteries used.
All in all, the actual battery life of the camera is more than enough. I have been constantly using
over the last week and the battery level hasn't dropped at all.

Except from the camera, there was also a wide variety of accessories included in the original box.
As seen in the pictures, there is a shoulder strap, an RCA cable, a USB to miniUSB cable, a mounting kit and some manuals included in the product's package.
