Tacklife CM01S Auto-Ranging Clamp Meter
The multimeter is an excellent choice for electronic hobbyists.
As with most multimeters, its made out of plastic yet it's quite heavy and feels rigit and tough.
The clamp's spring provide great retention while the selector wheel has both tactile and sound feedback.
The meter is able to measure a wide range of units.
More specifically, it's able to measure AC/DC Voltage, Capacitance, Duty Cycle, Frequency, Resistance as well as test Diodes and Continuity with sound feedback.
Additionally, thanks to the clamps, the meter can read the AC/DC amperage that goes through a conductor.
Lastly, the NCV probe allows the user to remotely locate live wires.
Due to its auto ranging capabilities, the meter automatically adjusts to the required magnitude order of the unit being measured.
According to the manufacturer, it's rated as cat III with a maximum of 600V across its input, which should be more than enough for ordinary tasks.
The operation of the meter is quite simple after someone has dedicated some time with it.
The user has to rotate the selector wheel in order it on and select the desired mode.
Most modes have dual functionality (e.g AC or DC measurement) so the 'SEL' button has to be pressed in order to cycle through the different options.
Moreover, the clamp meter has dedicated buttons for zeroing the reading or holding the current measurement.
Also, once the light button is pressed, both the LCD screen and the LED work light turn on for 15 seconds.
The meter arrived with a pair of DMM leads.
The leads have a a thick insulation around their cable's core and should work great for doing work around the house.
I measured their resistance at 0,3 Ohms which is pretty good.
The clamp meter arrived inside a cardboard box.
As an added bonus, it comes with a handy carrying case.
Three AAA batteries, a detailed instruction manual and a warranty card was also included in the package.
